Several types of FNPT Connection Bronze Check Valve
Bronze check valves are designed to allow fluid to flow in one direction only, preventing backflow and protecting pumps and other downstream equipment. FNPT stands for Female National Pipe Thread, which is a type of threaded connection commonly used in plumbing and piping systems. An FNPT connection check valve is a type of check valve that features female threads on both ends, allowing it to be connected to other piping components using threaded fittings. Here are several types of bronze check valves commonly available:
Swing check valve: A swing check valve features a disc that swings open and closed in response to fluid flow. When fluid flows in the correct direction, the disc swings open to allow passage, and when flow reverses, the disc swings closed to prevent backflow.
Lift check valve: A lift check valve uses a disc that lifts vertically to allow fluid to pass in the forward direction and then falls back down to block flow in the reverse direction.
Ball check valve: A ball check valve features a spherical ball that rolls freely in response to fluid flow. When fluid flows in the forward direction, the ball moves away from the valve seat, allowing passage, and when flow reverses, the ball rolls back into place to prevent backflow.
Dual plate check valve: A dual plate check valve uses two plates to control flow. The plates are hinged and move in opposite directions in response to fluid flow, allowing passage in the forward direction and blocking flow in the reverse direction.
Wafer check valve: A wafer check valve is a thin disc-shaped valve that fits between two flanges and is held in place with bolts. The valve opens and closes in response to fluid flow and pressure, preventing backflow and protecting downstream equipment.
Bronze check valves are reliable and durable, and are commonly used in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial applications. The specific type of check valve required will depend on the specific application and the flow rate and pressure requirements of the system.
